Inclement Weather Plan
Our objective is to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors by providing clear guidelines and procedures for responding to inclement weather conditions.
This inclement weather plan is designed to prioritize safety while minimizing disruption to the educational process. Staff, parents, and students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these procedures to ensure a coordinated response to inclement weather conditions.
Monitoring and Communication
- Weather Monitoring: The district will continuously monitor weather conditions through reliable sources such as the National Weather Service.
- Decision Making: The Superintendent or designated officials will assess weather conditions and make decisions regarding school operations.
- Communication Channels: Announcements may be made via the district’s website, social media, local news outlets, and automated phone/email systems as needed.
School Closures and Delays
- Criteria for Closure/Delay: Decisions will be based on factors such as road conditions, temperature, and forecasts.
- Notification Timing: Efforts will be made to announce closures or delays as soon as possible.
- Delayed Start Procedures: If a delay is implemented, details on adjusted start times will be provided.
Early Dismissal
- Criteria for Early Dismissal: Decisions will be based on deteriorating weather conditions that may affect safe travel.
- Notification Process: Parents/guardians and staff will be notified as early as possible.
- Student Supervision: Provisions will be made to ensure students are supervised until they can be safely picked up.
Transportation Adjustments
- Bus Routes: Adjustments may be made to bus routes to avoid hazardous areas.
- Communication with Drivers: Bus drivers will be informed of any changes to routes or schedules promptly.
- Parent Notification: Parents will be informed of any changes to bus pick-up/drop-off times or locations.

Staff Instructions
