Family Involvement Policy
Tellico Plains High School
Tellico Plains High School has jointly developed with parents a Family Involvement Policy to establish
the expectations for parental engagement. The Family Involvement Policy and other correspondences
will be written so that all stakeholders will be able to understand its meaning, including those
with disabilities or limited English proficiency.
FAMILY INVOLVEMENT POLICY
Our school encourages parental engagement in the educational process.
The school and home share the same goal of promoting success in our children.
Our parents will act as advisors, resource persons, and coordinators in the following ways:

--Serve on the Stakeholders Council, the Parent Advisory Committee, Booster Clubs, etc.
--Use their talents and resources to help enhance instructional programs
--Support and advocate the school
--Respond in a timely manner to memos, surveys, and questionnaires expressing ideas and concerns
NCLB (No Child Left Behind) INVOLVEMENT

using technology to foster parental involvement. Provide any other reasonable support for parent involvement activities per parent request
--Educate faculty and staff through regular and periodic professional development with the assistance of parents in the value and contributions
of parents, and in working with parents-how to reach out to, communicate with, and work with as equal partners, implement and coordinate
