- The MPS Library is staffed by a highly-qualified, certified Library
Media
Specialist and a
part-time Library Assistant.
- The library serves
650 students for 45 minutes each week.
- Our entire library is computerized. Our circulation system is fully automated.
Books and materials are checked out using a barcode system. Also, items can be accessed through our
web-based OPAC system, online public access catalog, by keyword, title, author, and subject.
MPS OPAC.
- We have a web-based Accelerated Reader program. The goal of the AR program is to
increase students' reading comprehension skills. The program encourages all students to read more books while having fun. Please see the AR link on the MPS homepage for information about how this program works
or click here.
- We sponsor
a Scholastic Book Fair during the school year. Students and their families
can shop at the fair for high-quality books from today's most popular award-winning authors and illustrators.

products, please click

- We sponsor three Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) book distributions each year. At each distribution, every student gets to choose one brand-new, free book to keep.
For more information on the federal RIF program, please
- We have
five computer stations in the library. Students and teachers use these
computers for various purposes.
